In another cooperation with choreographer Konstantinos Rigos, Vrettos has made a series of contemporary fairy tales, ranging from a deconstructed Cinderella to a post 9/11 Red Riding Hood. The shallow space, created by the use of cheap posters and the emblematic, albeit disturbed rendering of the tales’ protagonists, make a new version of each archetypal story, a visual equivalent of a Roald Dahl story in reverse. The project has started in 2004 and more images are added depending on the inspiration provided by contemporary life.
